Reckless Octave
v0.21An analog-style octave divider: your note an octave down and two octaves down, under your dry sound.
From the user guide
What it does
The octaves are made from the note itself, so they follow your pick and your dynamics, a deep, synth-like voice under the dry. It follows single notes; chords make it glitch and growl, part of the classic sound. A note much quieter than the one before waits a moment for its octave.
Controls
| Close-up | Control | Range | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Oct 1 | 0 to 100 % | 100 % | The level of the note an octave down. |
![]() | Oct 2 | 0 to 100 % | 0 % | The level of the note two octaves down. |
![]() | Mix | 0 to 100 % | 50 % | Dry against octaves at even loudness: dry alone at 0, octaves alone at the top. |
![]() | Output | -24 to +24 dB | 0 dB | The overall output level. |
Tips
- Start here: the neck pickup, single notes below the twelfth fret. If a low note jumps to your own pitch, roll the guitar’s tone back a little.
- Before the drive. Distortion ahead of it gives the divider more to count; a drive after it makes a huge, fuzzy bass line.
- A bass under the riff: Mix toward 60 %, Oct 1 full, Oct 2 around a quarter.
- The synth sub: Oct 2 full, Oct 1 low, Mix high.
