Reckless Wah

v0.21

A wah built from a tuned LCR circuit, moved by your playing, by an LFO in time with the song, or by an expression pedal over MIDI.

Modes and filters

Mode chooses what moves the wah; you can switch it while playing.

The screen: the wah's peak moving between the heel's curve and the toe's.

  • Autowah — a picked note opens the wah and it closes as the note dies. Key at Sidechain follows another track instead, which is never heard.
  • LFO Wah — rocks heel to toe and back once per Rate, locked to the bar while the song plays. The first knob becomes Depth.
  • Wah — an expression pedal on MIDI CC 1, any channel. In a host, route MIDI to the plugin; in the standalone app, turn the input on in the Audio/MIDI Settings (the gear beside PRESETS). The pedal's position is saved with the session and in presets.

Filter chooses what is swept: Wah, the tuned circuit; Lowpass, a four-pole resonant synth filter; Phase, a four-stage phaser. Any mode moves any filter.

The plates: MODE, KEY, RATE and FILTER.

Tips

  • Start here: a clean guitar, the defaults, a funky rhythm. Set Sensitivity so your normal playing opens it as far as you want.
  • The cocked wah: in Wah mode, park the pedal mid-way for a fixed, nasal voice.
  • Drums moving a guitar: Autowah, Key at Sidechain, the drums sent to it.
In LFO Wah the first knob is Depth.
